The Franschhoek Fish House was established in 1986 in the Franschhoek valley, as the first processor and smoker of rainbow trout products in the Western Cape.
Fresh trout is harvested directly from aquaculture farms established in the clear crystal waters of the Western Cape. The quality of this farmed trout, harvested fresh and smoked with skill, provides consistent high quality fresh and smoked trout products.
Our sea products are sourced from selected and recognized quality conscious suppliers who meet our stringent quality requirements.

Nothing has been spared to achieve points of difference from the competition in the crucial areas of presentation, service - and particularly flavour. The product flavour is enhanced by using top quality oak shavings, in the original Scottish methods of smoking; where craft, experience and skill are essential to produce the highest quality smoked products.
Our products are traditionally dry salted using sea salt instead of a combination of sugar and salt, which is being used by most smokers as preferred method of curing. Our final product is therefore healthier to diabetics and weight conscious consumers.

A large selection of our products are manufactured Kosher with Beth Din Certification opening our market to the Jewish community. The Islamic Council of South Africa, providing us with Halaal Certification, has also approved our range of products.
Our product range is available in selected outlets throughout Africa. The Franschhoek Fish house delivers and distributes throughout the Western Cape regions five days a week, to restaurants, hotels, wholesalers, retailers, caterers and directly to the public.
The home delivery service is free of charge in the Cape Town region and has set us aside as the only wholesale distributor to go the extra length for the public. We do have agents nationwide and will gladly forward you their details for deliveries in other areas.
